Still time to sign up for our Emerging Engineers competition

Open to all ICE graduate and student members, the Emerging Engineers Award gives young engineers the chance to practice their writing and presentation skills in preparation for professional review.

It can also help raise your profile, promote your university or employer and give you the opportunity to have your paper published. Prize money of up to £250 is also up for grabs, with cash prizes also awarded to runners-up.

Papers can be on any area of engineering design, research or practice, and should be expertly presented and discussed, as well as be innovative and well written.

To get started, send in your application form and a synopsis of your paper by 2 Feb 2018. If shortlisted, you will be asked to write up your full paper by 23 February 2018 and prepare your presentation for the regional final on 23 April.

Entry details in brief:

  • Submission of a 400 word synopsis by 2 February 2018 to your Region via the email address below.
  • Notification of shortlisted candidates 23 February 2018.
  • Final Paper submission by 11 April 2018 (up to 4000 words).
  • West Midlands Regional Final 23 April 2018

The three finalists will receive free tickets to the West Midlands Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday 9 May 2018 where the regional winner will be announced.
