UPDATE: This article has been updated to indicate an extension to the survey deadline.
A new questionnaire has been released to measure infrastructure professionals’ understanding of social value and the barriers to delivery.
The questionnaire can be accessed online here
until 26 August, or an offline digital version can be obtained from[email protected]
Created by Useful Projects – who’ve been awarded a grant for this work by ICE’s Research & Development Enabling Fund – the questionnaire forms part of a wider research project examining how far engineers have come in realising social value, and whether we can achieve more.
Judith Sykes, Director at Useful Projects, explains: “Driven in part by the Social Value Act, organisations are under increased scrutiny to declare how they are creating social value. Social value is high on the agenda, but we need to go much further in delivering genuine added social value. By evidencing the implementation gap, we can identify a programme of awareness raising, education, tools and processes to drive progress.”
The questionnaire will take around five to 10 minutes to complete, and your response is extremely valuable to ICE and the researchers.
All respondents will have the option to enter a draw to win a £20 Amazon voucher.
The output of this research is due to be published in autumn 2019.
ICE’s Research & Development Enabling Fund awards grants of up to £50,000 to ICE members wishing to conduct research on specific topics. Current calls include social value and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
