'Engineers should engage with the public on issues they care about'

ICE Director General Nick Baveystock sets out his thoughts on the infrastructure landscape, and the challenges that civil engineers face in society in a changing world.

Engineers need to be able to talk to the public about the things they care about, when it comes to infrastructure, and not just focus on technical details, according to ICE's Director General.

ICE Director General Nick Baveystock has set out his thoughts in a new film on the infrastructure landscape and the challenges faced by civil engineers.

Reflecting on the Institution's bicentenary last year, Baveystock also outlined the progress ICE made during ICE 200, and talked about where engineers should be focusing their attention in future.

The film follows on from Baveystock's speaking engagements as ICE director general around the world, and gives colleagues and members an insight into the topics that he covers.
