Aspiring author? Come write for ICE Publishing

Writing for journals can help with career development, and ICE Publishing is on the lookout for budding authors.

ICE Publishing currently has open call for papers on forensic geotechnical engineering, major bridge replacement projects in North America, structural design for fire safety, underground and foundation engineering, technological advances in structural engineering, and integrated catchment management.

Writers who may not be fluent in English are encouraged to ask a contact or colleague who is to read and critically appraise their work before submitting it to ICE Publishing.

Alternatively, they can access ICE Publishing’s English language editing service.

One author, Patrick Waterhouse, has given his insight into his experiences with ICE Publishing, ahead of the publication of his latest book, NEC4 Resolving and Avoiding Disputes.

How to promote your book

John Parkin, Professor of Transport Engineering at the University of the West of England, who wrote the bestseller Designing for Cycle Traffic, recently discussed the activities he undertook to promote his book.

New edition

The new edition of Pedestrian Facilities: Geometric design for safety and mobility, Second edition, is out now.

This book provides detailed guidance on design to encourage the safety, comfort and convenience of pedestrians and other road users. It has an emphasis on numerical, functional aspects of spaces where pedestrian and vehicular traffic interact. Buy your copy.
