A Chartered Manager qualification can make you a more rounded and flexible leader as William Duncan found out.
Becoming an incorporated or Chartered Engineer is a great achievement, but you don't have to stop there. ICE supports other qualifications that can help you take your career even further.
Qualifying as a Chartered Manager can give you credit for your management skills and boost your value to your organisation.
If you're already either a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), with five years or more management experience, you can use the CMI's qualified route to gain Chartered Manager (CMgr) status in as little of six weeks. And as long as you remain an ICE member, you’ll receive a 50% discount on your annual CMI membership fees.
William Duncan, a Programme Manager at National Grid, has increased and gained recognition for his skills by gaining Chartered Manager status through the ICE/CMI qualified route.
“The greatest benefit of becoming a Chartered Manager is becoming a more dynamic, more rounded and a more flexible leader. It’s now easier to see the skills and abilities I have. I am glad to have had the opportunity to sharpen my skills and really improve as a leader through this new world of training and networking events. “
