Council Ballot 2019: last chance to stand

New members are being sought for ICE’s Council, which is responsible for representing the views of the membership to the Trustee Board.

The 35 elected-member ICE Council steers how the Institution can best deliver value to society and its members. It supports the Trustees in ensuring ICE is considered a global centre of excellence and helpsset the high-level strategy for the ICE to meet the challenges and needs of the 21st century.

Members can nominate themselves or a colleague and would serve a three-year term of office with effect from 5 November 2019. The Council meets four times a year, usually at One Great George Street in London.

The vacancies

The 13 vacancies to be filled this year are:

  • Six general members (comprising Corporate and Technician Members), who are elected by the professionally qualified members worldwide and do not represent any particular constituency

  • Five regional members – one member to represent each of the following regions: East of England, London, Scotland, South East and Yorkshire and Humber. Candidates may be Corporate or Technician Members and are elected by the professionally qualified members in the relevant regions

  • One international member – to represent Europe and Central Asia

  • One graduate member (ICE Graduate Member) elected by ICE Graduate Members

How to make a nomination

To nominate a candidate, fill in the nomination form and email it to [email protected].

All nominations must be submitted to the Council Office at One Great George Street by 29 March 2019.

All candidates will need five sponsors who must be full paying ICE members. A member may sponsor up to two candidates.
