ICE Training launches Mini-MBA in Infrastructure

ICE Training has released a new 'mini' MBA for engineers looking to expand their leadership and project management skills.

The Mini-MBA in Infrastructure course will be taught through two days of mentor-led, virtual classroom sessions, six self-paced eLearning modules, and an assessed personal and professional reflection before the end of 12 months to conclude the programme and validate participants' development.

The course has been approved and certified by the ICE.

Seán Harris, ICE Director of Membership, said: "Collectively as a profession, ICE recognises the important role Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plays in ensuring ongoing competence, developing the career of the individual civil engineer and ensuring ongoing skills capacity for the industry as a whole.

"Management and leadership are key skills in this CPD mix and a clear career direction for many ICE members. ICE is committed to providing our members with relevant CPD activities and is therefore delighted to be able to endorse the Thomas Telford mini-MBA."

What will the Mini-MBA in Infrastructure course cover?

The course content covers a range of topics relating to management and leadership including:

  • People and company culture;
  • Business development;
  • Project management;
  • Financing and budgets; and
  • Procurement and contract management.

All of the information is available on the ICE Training website - see the full programme overview and learning outcomes.

What is a mini-MBA?

A mini-MBA is an accelerated format of an MBA, offering greater accessibility and flexibility to those looking to upskill and stand out from their peers. While not an alternative or replacement for a full MBA course, a mini-MBA provides a significant contribution to lifelong learning without having to take a career break.
