ICE has announced that Mark Hansford will be joining ICE Group as Director of Engineering Knowledge.
Hansford joins from EMAP, where he's been editor of the Institution’s magazine, New Civil Engineer, since 2014.
A Fellow of the ICE, Hansford is renowned for producing content on both future trends and the challenges facing the profession, as well as best practice from the cutting edge of civil engineering.
He was instrumental in the relaunch of NCE in 2016 and took an active role in the management of the NCE portfolio of events, including roundtables, webinars and breakfast briefings.
He joins ICE to meet its members’ knowledge needs and support the creation of a vibrant, relevant, progressive CPD and technical knowledge programme. Hansford will also support our members in identifying the trends, challenges and mitigations to the issues society faces, ensuring ICE remains a thought leader across the infrastructure spectrum.
Prior to joining EMAP, Hansford worked for Atkins. His knowledge and passion for civil engineering and the civil engineering profession made him an ideal choice for the position of ICE Director of Engineering Knowledge.
ICE looks forward to Hansford's arrival and to maintaining our strong and effective links with EMAP, the new editor, and all the passionate and committed staff of the NCE as we collectively work together to enhance the service to our membership.
