Members to vote on governance changes in line with the Presidential Commission findings

The ICE Trustee Board met on 24 March 2020 and agreed a series of proposed amendments to the by-laws on which members will be asked to vote in a membership ballot over the summer.

In agreeing the findings of the Presidential Commission into ICE Governance, the Trustees propose amendments to the ICE’s by-laws.

Members will be asked to vote on resolutions about; the balance of the Trustee Board, the method of appointing and dismissing trustees, changes to the rules for attendance, and voting at a Special General Meeting.

The ballot will open on 1 June and will close on 14 July 2020.

If members approve the resolutions, and the Trustees and Council strongly recommend that they do, the Institution will try to implement the changes by November 2020 (any delay will only be because of the need for formal Privy Council approval).

The ICE President, Trustees and Council members shall be speaking to many members over the next few months and will be happy to explain how these changes will improve your Institution.
