This year’s Model Building Competition has opened for entries, pitting teams of undergraduates against each other to demonstrate their ability to turn technical knowledge into practice by explaining the engineering behind models they have built themselves.
The competition allows students to not only show off the engineering behind their creations but improve their presentation skills at the same time.
This year, participating teams will each build a model made of balsa wood to the theme of 'introducing and demonstrating floating platform design against wave'. The model will be tested by applying loads on the floating platform in a water tank.
