Shortlist announced for 2023 British Construction Industry Awards

The awards have 11 categories that highlight best practice during project delivery and eight that recognise successfully delivered project outcomes.

HS2 and Tideway are just two of a number of projects and companies that have made the shortlist for the 2023 British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA).

The awards, which take place later this year, have 11 categories that highlight best practice during project delivery and eight that recognise successfully delivered project outcomes.

The best practice categories are:

  • Carbon Net Zero Initiative of the Year
  • Community Impact Initiative of the Year
  • Digital Initiative of the Year
  • Environment & Sustainability Initiative of the Year
  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing Initiative of the Year
  • IPA’s Industry Innovation Champion
  • Partnership Initiative of the Year
  • Place Making Initiative of the Year
  • Product Innovation of the Year
  • Productivity Initiative of the Year
  • Temporary Works Initiative of the Year

The successfully delivered project outcomes categories are:

  • Commercial Property Project of the Year
  • Cultural & Leisure Project of the Year
  • Environmental Project of the Year
  • Residential Project of the Year
  • Social Infrastructure Project of the Year
  • Transport Project of the Year
  • Upgrade & Renewal Project of the Year
  • Utility Project of the Year

More than 200 companies – including designers, contractors, and commissioning authorities – have made the shortlist.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London, on 11 October 2023.
