ICE Wales Cymru is delighted to announce Alex Prance as winner of the STEM Ambassador Award 2019.

Winner of ICE Wales Cymru Stem Ambassador award 2019 announced

Alex, a Technician at Stantec, Pentwyn, Cardiff represented both his employer, and the ICE Sixth Form to Careers Campaign, at primary and secondary schools across South Wales.

He admitted to "Being over the moon" at winning the Award and added, “I'm proud of my contribution to promoting STEM and inspiring future engineers”.

Alex was busy throughout 2019 participating in other events too including Careers Expeditions, Pathways into Engineering presentations and ICE Bridge to Schools activities.

His excellent work and commitment have earned him ICE Wales Cymru STEM Ambassador Trophy and £100 Prize Money which Alex has very generously donated to Mind Newport (Gwent) to help them continue their work during the Covid-19 period.

“Alex has shown dedication and enthusiasm throughout the year and is a worthy winner, said Keith Jones, Director ICE Wales Cymru. He is an inspiration for others to follow suit and we wish him continued success with his career.”

Alex said: "For 2020, I wish to continue Inspiring students of multiple age groups that STEM can be for everyone, of all abilities. I want to continue promoting the benefits of apprenticeships and sharing the positive experiences I have had since pursuing a career in engineering"
