Date
17 October 2023

Governments play an integral role in creating opportunities for civil engineers and infrastructure professionals to help deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The role of infrastructure toward achieving the SDGs is clear.

At an ICE-hosted presidential roundtable, participants discussed what civil engineers and infrastructure professionals need from governments to play a more active role in delivering on the SDGs.

Key discussion points included:

  • gaining clarity on the 'what' and 'how'
  • identify synergies between infrastructure and the SDGs
  • creating a positive narrative
  • engaging from the bottom up
  • locking in promises
