The ICE Knowledge Hub has been refreshed to support members’ continuing professional development (CPD).

The online learning platform is available to all ICE members and offers a range of content to help them enhance skills and knowledge.

Following member feedback, the hub has been redesigned to create a better user experience – with a focus on being accessible and easy-to-use.

“Our improved Knowledge Hub will better meet the needs of our members, for who continuous learning is an essential part of their profession,” said Mark Hansford, ICE director of engineering knowledge.

“From learning about net zero business planning to refreshing their knowledge on health and safety or gaining a new perspective about nature-based solutions, the Knowledge Hub has something to offer everyone, at every stage of their career.”

Something for everyone

The ICE Knowledge Hub supports the institution’s ongoing commitment to building competence and professionalism across the civil engineering sector.

In recognition of the different learning styles of members, a wide variety of content is available in a range of formats, including podcasts and short video explainers.

Content focuses on a wide range of civil engineering topics. For instance, how we can create a more nature-positive, resilient, productive and low carbon future – one that benefits the communities and societies that the sector serves.

The modules relate to core competencies, including resilience, decarbonisation, productivity, as well as specialist content focused on areas such as transport, structures, energy, water and geotechnical.

Members can pick topics relevant to their current role or explore something new to expand their horizons, or learn how lessons can be applied across different parts of the sector.

Content is aimed at those holding a CEng, IEng or EngTech qualification but there’s content that is relevant to everyone working in the built environment sector.
