Fahad Al Jubeir has been responsible for the implementation of billions of dollars of infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia’s mayor of the Eastern Province has become a fellow of the ICE.
Fahad Al Jubeir, who's been mayor of the Eastern Province since March 2013, has a passion for road safety and sustainable transport, and has led the implementation of billions of dollars of infrastructure during his time in office and throughout his career.
He recently sat on the Middle East panel of the Brunel Lecture series, where he said that ‘Engineers need to broaden their skills and focus more on understanding and improving environmental policy and not just technical skills’.
Fahad Al Jubeir’s engineering background
The mayor has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from King Saud University (KSU) and a diploma in advanced project management from the University of Arizona.
He held his first position in project management with the Riyadh Municipality until 1987, then led the Unaizah Municipality from 1993 to 1999. Between 1999 and 2004, he held various senior positions, before becoming mayor of Al-Ahsa from 2004 until 2013.
Other positions held by Al Jubeir include head of the Al-Ahsa Municipality Council, member of the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Saudi Engineers Council, the Saudi Heritage Preservation Society, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in Al-Ahsa, the Education Council in the Eastern Province, and the supervisory committee at KSU’s engineering faculty.
He is currently chairman of the Gulf Road and Transport Engineering Society, and a board member of the General Entertainment Authority.
