Twelve ICE NI members recently passed their Autumn 2015 Law and Contract Management Examination modules, giving ICE NI an outstanding pass rate of 92%.
"Congratulations to all of the local members who passed their modules — we recognise and honour your hard work, and we wish you the best in your continued development," said ICE NI Regional Director Richard Kirk.
"We also especially commend Julie Templeton, Commercial Manager at Atkins, for receiving a distinction," he added.
Templeton had deferred her exams for a year due to maternity leave, re-immersing herself in study after a long break from the classroom. Her advice to those considering taking the exam? Start studying earlier rather than later.
"I found the exams very challenging compared to the usual engineering-style exams," Templeton said. "I focussed on past papers and lots of practice structuring my arguments and answers."
Templeton added that her distinction was a welcome surprise.
"Getting these two exams will assist with future promotions," she said. "Law and Contracts exams are the ideal demonstration of knowledge and experience in contracts."
