Help us celebrate the 1st Severn Crossing turn 50!

On Thursday 8th September, the 1st Severn Crossing will be turning 50. To celebrate ICE South West are holding a competition aimed at Key Stages 1, 2 & 3.

If you're aged 5 to 7 years old (KS1) we'd like you to design a poster that includes the Severn Bridge and the title 'Celebrating 50 years'.

If you're aged 7 to 11 years old (KS2) we'd like to design a poster that represents the history, milestones and facts and figures of the Severn Crossing.

Prizes: Kindly donated by American Bridge International and A Forgotten Landscape:

  • 1st Prize: Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition & Lego Creative Building Box
  • Runners-up: Lego Creative Building Box

Deadline for entries: Wednesday 27th July 2016

If you're aged 11 to 14 years old (KS3) we'd like you to design an Information Board that represents the Severn Bridge and celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Prizes: Kindly donated by American Bridge International and A Forgotten Landscape:

  • 1st Prize: iPad Mini and the opportunity to work with A Forgotten Landscape's artist-in-residence to develop your information board into a real-life interpretation panel which will be on public display!
  • Runners up: Meccano Tower Bridge Set

Winners will be announced on Thursday 8th September 2016.

Terms and conditions:

  • All designs must be submitted on A3 paper (either portrait or landscape)
  • Any medium including collage, drawing, painting, printmaking, digital, graphic design and photography
  • Have fun with the competition and make sure your entry is original, colourful and eye-catching – be creative!
