Help us to influence decision makers in the West Midlands

Did you know the West Midlands region has a Public Voice committee? The committee seeks to promote engineering and influence the local debate about engineering issues from an ICE perspective, providing impartial expert advice and comment when appropriate.

West Midlands Combined Authority Productivity and Skills Commission call for evidence April 2017.
West Midlands Combined Authority Productivity and Skills Commission call for evidence April 2017.

The committee is currently reviewing its approach in parallel with opportunities to engage with the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Midlands Engine, and as a result is looking to expand its membership to better represent the region.

The committee is also considering establishing professional interest networks. These would be centres of excellence for the committee on specific topics, leading on any opinion or advice provided by ICE West Midlands, and would provide a forum for both informal and formal discussion, both virtually and in person.

If you would be interested in playing a role in either the committee or a professional interest network, or would just like to contribute to the discussion about how these may be formed or used by the ICE, then please get in touch with a member of the regional team by emailing ice.westmidlands@ice.org.uk. The committee would welcome engagement from members at any stage in their career.
