ICE & SNOW is an annual, seven-day ski trip combining engineering challenges with alpine activities.
For the 2016-2017 winter season we have partnered with one of the most exciting new schools - the London Design & Engineering UTC - to bring a new and exciting engineering challenge with the personalisable and interactive NAO robots.
2016 Family Trip – Best Early Season Snow for 25 Years!
For twelfth year ICE is pleased to welcome parents and children to a fantastic ski holiday in the French Alps. The seven-day trip departs on 16 December, heading to Meribel in the Three Valleys and returns on 23 December. The resort offers excellent skiing, wonderful scenery and superb cuisine. It's the largest ski domain the world, covering three valleys of prime skiing country in the French Alps.
Once off the slopes parents can relax because that's when ICE step forward and take the children's excitement of the day and channel it in to understanding the joys of engineering. This December the kids will be working together to create an amazing Lego World in the Snow, dominated by three unique bridges that they will make during the ski week. Visit the ICE Bridge Exhibition to see the type of Lego they will be using and the inspiration for their builds.
But this trip is not all children. We have couples and singles booked in to our fantastic ski in, ski out Chalet Hotel in the Three Valleys.
As usual we have partnered with Mark Warner who have decades of experience in providing wonderful ski experiences in the Alps.
Book with ICE and benefit from a 5% discount on the current standard price of £799pp.
Contact Richard Armstrong at firstname.lastname@example.org 0207 665 2411 to discuss your booking details.

2017 School Trip
ICE and LDEUTC are organising a one week school ski trip for children high in the Italian Alps. After hitting the slopes, students will participate in an engineering challenge, working together to programme ten NAO robots to ski. At the end of the challenge in the middle of a floodlit alpine village, the robots will compete in a cross country ski race to determine the winner.
The dates for the ski school trip are from 28 January to 5 February 2017.
The cost of £759pp includes everything:
- Transport by executive coach, including breakfast in both directions (extra £149 to fly)
- Full board (including on the slope hot lunches)
- Tuition 6 days, 4 hrs per day, fully qualified English speaking instructors plus one hour lunch supervision
- Ski and boot hire
- Winter insurance
- 6 day lift pass and lots more
The engineering robot challenge is free and there will be some exciting prizes for the children provided by our sponsors.
ICE and LDEUTC would like to discuss with other schools and colleges the possibility of them joining our 2017 Schools ICE & Snow trip and future ones beyond that. We have lots of experience at organising educational activities in superb ski locations at affordable prices, as can be seen from the comments above and testimonials below. To find out more, contact Richard Armstrong at email@example.com or call 0207 665 2411.
ICE & SNOW has introduced many young children to engineering as a career choice. Here are some of the many encouraging testimonials gathered over 12 successful years from parents and their children:
"I was going to take a degree in sport, but after ICE & SNOW I am signing up for an engineering degree!" Ben Shaw (Team Leader in 2009) aged 16
"We had a fantastic time and totally enjoyed watching the kids carry out their engineering games." John Russell (parent 2010)
"A very big thank you for a really enjoyable trip. Hotel was fab, staff friendly and helpful, setting gorgeous, really fun company, totally inspiring engineering games and what a great ICE team!" Antonia Graham (parent 2011)
"Having been an HR manager at BAE Systems for some years I feel such events make a great contribution to the future of engineering, especially when so many leave school with little insight into this field" Martine Walling (parent Dec 2014 Meribel France)
