During last year's Annual Dinner, ICE NI members contributed £4,686 total to WaterAid and the Women's Fund for Northern Ireland. The charities were nominated by ICE NI Chairman Dr Alan Skates.

"We are extremely grateful for the support of ICE through their annual dinner in December," said Clare McTaggart, Development Manager for WaterAid Scotland and Northern Ireland.

"They raised an incredible £2,343, which we will put to very good use. 650 million people in the world do not have access to safe water and 2.3 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation. Our vision is to reach everyone everywhere with safe water and sanitation by 2030. These valuable funds will help us to achieve this."

Joan Smyth, who represents the Women's Fund for Northern Ireland, added: "We welcome the generous donation because we want women to achieve their potential. The small grants we provide allow them to pursue studies, learn a new skill or set up in a small business venture."
