Catherine Yang

Catherine Yang joined Baidu in 2017 Oct as Corporate Vice President, in charge of Artificial Intelligence Commercialization. Her charter includes leading business units to develop industrial vertical solutions, AI SaaS service based on Baidu AI technologies and products and land in industries and smart city to accelerate Baidu AI business growth, managing team to develop and enable partner network with technology, hardware , platform, ISV, start up, investment companies to build up robust AI ecosystem,  building up trusted relationship with central and local government, industry association, research center, colleges and deliver thought leadership as trusted advisor. In addition to organic growth, Catherine is also responsible for inorganic growth strategy. She is board advisor to Baidu Chang Cheng Investment Partner, a growth fund focusing on AI investment and Baidu Capital 

Prior to Baidu, Catherine was Vice President for Microsoft China, responsible for intelligence cloud business operation and growth in China.  Before that, She was appointed as Vice President and General Manager for GE China from 2010-2016, leading GE Healthcare IT and digital health business, a strategic important segment of GE Healthcare. In addition to it, she also led GE china digital business as Vice President to enable industrial companies with their digital transformation. Prior to joining GE, Catherine spent five years at Oracle Greater China as the GM of Greater China for Exadata, big data appliance solutions.  In this role, she placed tremendous focus on strategy and planning, driving solution sales, consultancy and service through strategic account, and market development.  

As a visionary and accomplished executive leader in world leading IT software & solution companies, Catherine has built a portfolio of success based on her 25 years experiences in areas of Strategy planning, sales, presales  & solution management,  professional service, software and solution R&D . She also has profound knowledge and extensive experiences in enterprise digital transformation, Business intelligence & data warehouse, cloud computing, big data analytics etc. With her Asian background and extensive working experiences in North America and Asian Countries, she is a highly seasoned business leader who can drive business growth through digital transformation and manage business operation skillfully with in-depth cultural understanding of both the East and the West. 

Catherine holds a BS degree in International Business and Economics from Hohai University, China and MBA degree from Guang Hua Management School of Peking University, Beijing, China. She also obtained certificate of Bio-Design Program and Machine Learning program from Stanford University, Global Leadership Program from Harvard University. Catherine holds various leadership position in important industry association. R.e Vice President of China Software Association, Director of Council of China's new generation of Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy Research Institute .
