Laura Robichaux is currently working on a PhD in Environmental Science funded by New Zealand’s Living at the Edge Resilience Challenge at the University of Auckland. Her research focuses on the social, financial, and institutional factors resulting in the “implementation gap” of coastal risk management projects. She was raised in Houma, Louisiana experiencing coastal hazards and attending community meetings. She couples this practical understanding with her training in coastal engineering to provide a real-world lens through which principles discussed in academic literature are readily applied. While working on her thesis, she is working part time as a Senior Coastal Engineer at Urban Solutions Limited in Auckland.
