Michael E. Auer received his Ing. degree, Ph.D and Dr.sc.techn. from Dresden University of Technology, Germany.
In 2011 Michael was awarded the title Dr.h.c. by Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania with a laudation of Prof. Rob Reilly from MIT.
He is chair of the Advisory Board of the International E-Learning Association and member of the Board of Consultants of the International Centre for Innovation in Education.
Michael is Founding President and CEO of the International Association of Online Engineering. From 2010 to 2016 he was President of the International Society for Engineering Education and is one of the founders of the Global Online Laboratory Consortium - the result of an initiative started at MIT to coordinate the work on educational online laboratories worldwide.
He was elected President of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies 2016-2018.
