Stewart Rowe

Stewart is the Coastal manager at Scarborough Borough Council and also Project Executive of the North East Coastal Monitoring Programme. He presides over a team of coastal and flooding project managers working on many innovative strategies, studies, monitoring programmes and capital works within the Borough of Scarborough and the wider area between St Abbs Head (Scottish Boarders) to Flamborough Head in Yorkshire. Stewart has over 15 years of experience in coastal management in the UK. He project managed the delivery of the first completed and approved Shoreline Management Plan 2 (SMP2) in England and also assisted in reviewing other SMP2’s from around the county. Stewart also projected managed more recently the Filey & Cayton Bay Coastal Strategy which received an award for best business case submission to the Environment Agency’s Large Projects Review Group in 2018. Stewart is the Chairman of the North East Coastal Group and sits on the Yorkshire Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
