Tara-Leigh McVey is a Regional Director with AECOM’s Water, Ports and Power team, responsible for the management and delivery of both strategic and detailed design water related projects.
As a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager (MCIWEM), Scientist and Environmentalist with over 18 years of experience, she has covered a wide range of flood and coastal engineering projects in the UK and overseas. Tara-Leigh has helped managed or been part of the technical delivery of over 50+ projects including feasibility studies, catchment strategies, river restoration projects, flood defence construction projects (including the NEC ECC management role), regeneration schemes, asset management plans, and Shoreline Management Plans. In particular Tara-Leigh was an essential member of the teams successfully delivering four of the national coastal planning documents for the UK Government during the last review.
Tara-Leigh is originally from Canada but now resides in Hampshire, UK with her husband and two young boys. She is passionate about coastal management and climate resilience and its fundamental integration into planning policy development.
