Please note that this webinar will be held on 26 January 2022 from 19:00 - 20:30 HK time.
Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) is a non-traditional procurement route, where a contractor’s skills are introduced early in a project to bring design and cost efficiencies to the pre-construction phase. ECI is a two-stage process where the first provides for contractor involvement in the design process, and the second provides for completing outstanding design and construction of the works.
This webinar is co-organised by ICE HKA G&S and CIHT HKR YPC. It offers an overview of optional Clause X22 in the NEC4 ECC. Explanation on when ECI could be used and how best to utilise it shall be introduced. Key areas in the clause include the following:
● Setting the Budget
● Defining the Stages
● Proposals for Stage Two
● Notice to proceed to Stage Two
● Changes to the Budget
● Incentive payments
This webinar aims to explain to the audience in detail the above topics systematically. Our speaker, Mr Gerrard, was involved in drafting Clause X22 and has used it in both the UK and Australia. He is delighted to share the theoretical and practical experiences of Sydney Water and Midland Highways Alliance during the webinar.
