ICE Ambassadors

ICE Ambassadors are members who volunteer to work with schools to encourage awareness and enthusiasm for civil engineering. Working with young people in schools can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

Role of an ICE Ambassador

Being an Ambassador involves attending careers fairs, giving presentations on civil engineering careers and running engineering activities with groups of school students.

Current ICE Ambassadors

We spoke to some of our current Ambassadors about their experience. Click on the photos below to read about their experiences.

We are constantly on the look out for dynamic civil engineers to go into schools and inspire young people about the profession. Many companies release employees throughout the year for school activities which jointly deliver the ICE message and help to promote the employer.

Being an Ambassador also counts towards your CPD so don't forget to record what you've gained from these experiences!

How can I become an ICE Ambassador?

The Ambassador programme is coordinated by ICE regional teams and as part of the National Science & Engineering Ambassadors (SESa) scheme run by the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Network (STEMNET).

If you are interested in becoming an ICE Ambassador, please contact your ICE Education Coordinator first to let them know, and then complete the online registration form on STEMNET’s website.
