VolkerFitzpatrick civil engineer Richard Bamford has double cause to celebrate. He recently gained membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers allowing him to use the letters TMICE after name and has been awarded the Jean Veneables Medal.

Flood defence plans costing more than £1 million to safeguard almost 1,000 Cambridge homes have been welcomed by the city’s MP Julian Huppert.

The Government has announced £294 million will be spent on flood defences this year and a large slice of it is coming to the East of England. A total of 93 schemes have been given the go ahead including 15 in the Eastern region due to commence this year. These include £28.6 million for Great Yarmouth protecting over 2000 homes.
