ICE launches ‘beauty of civil engineering’ photo competition

ICE is calling for members of the public to send in photos of ‘beautiful’ engineering projects, for a chance to win a £100 gift card.

As part of Engineering Summer 2021, the institution’s campaign to celebrate civil engineers and the work they do, people are asked to submit images that show the ‘beauty of civil engineering’.

For the purposes of the competition, ‘beauty’ can refer to a structure that is aesthetically pleasing, or a beauty that is less visible. For example, a photo of a bridge that solves a problem by connecting communities is as eligible as one of a visually stunning building.

The pictures can be of civil engineering projects anywhere in the world.

How to enter

Entrants can submit as many images as they wish, but each one should be uploaded and submitted individually. Each entry should also have a sentence to explain why the image fits with the theme of ‘beauty of civil engineering’.

The competition closes on 6 September 2021.

Follow the hashtag #EngineeringSummer on ICE’s social media channels for updates.
