On 13 February 2018 the Disciplinary Board considered allegations of improper conduct against a Chartered Member.
The Disciplinary Board found this member guilty of improper conduct in relation to the allegation against him that he had breached By-law 34 and Rule 1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct for a criminal conviction. The Board considered the facts of the conviction and ordered that the member should remain anonymous.
Under the powers conferred on it by By-law 38, the Disciplinary Board ordered that this member be Suspended for two years. The Disciplinary Board ordered that the fact and particulars of the Order against the Member be posted in the Institution and published.
On 13 February 2018 the Disciplinary Board considered allegations of improper conduct against Chartered Member, Mr Hussanali Virani, Membership Number 63085405, of Ontario, Canada.
The Disciplinary Board found Mr Virani guilty of improper conduct in relation to the allegation against him that he had breached By-law 34 and Rule 1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct by falsifying qualifying certificates to gain membership of the ICE.
Under the powers conferred on it by By-law 38, the Disciplinary Board ordered that Mr Virani should be Expelled from membership of the ICE. The Disciplinary Board ordered that the fact and particulars of the Order against him, and the details of the improper conduct of which he had been found guilty, should be posted in the Institution and published.
On 11 July 2019 the Disciplinary Board considered allegations of improper conduct against Chartered Member, Mr Bing Wing Choy, Membership Number 41622991, of Hong Kong.
The Disciplinary Board found Mr Choy guilty of breaching Rule 1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct and By-law 34 for the conduct and language he adopted against various individuals and members of this and other professional Institutions which was not appropriate to the standing, reputation and dignity of the Institution and of the profession of civil engineering.
Under the powers conferred on it by By-law 38, the Disciplinary Board ordered that Mr Choy be severely reprimanded and exhorted him to order his future conduct in compliance with Rule 1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct and By-law 34.
