There are almost 200 ICE members living and working across France. Our members work on a huge range of projects across the country.
At the heart of everything we do in France is the French Local Association. The volunteer-run association helps arrange events, visits to ongoing engineering projects and social activities. It's also vital in helping to increase the profile of civil engineering.
There are some graduate representatives on the association committee, who support members working towards professional qualification. There's also a Student Chapter at the L'Ecole des Grands Proiets (ESTP).
With about 150 students, graduates, technician members, members, and fellows living and working across France, the ICE France Association plays a pivotal role in advancing civil engineering practice nationwide. Our diverse membership is engaged in a wide array of projects, contributing significantly to the infrastructure landscape of the country.
Objective
The ICE France Association is dedicated to advancing civil engineering practice through regular networking events, educational technical talks, site visits, and mentorship programs.
- Networking events: ICE France Association holds periodic networking events at 7pm in The Highlander Pub, 8 Rue Nevers, 75006 Paris (Metro: Pont Neuf). Please come along and meet with other professional engineers working or living in or visiting the Paris area.
Non-members of the ICE are welcome at most events organised by ICE France. If you have an interest in infrastructure and civil engineering, you are welcome to contact the secretary with your contact details. The secretary will add your email address to the list of friends of the ICE in France who receive notices of events. - Technical talks: we organise bi-monthly technical talks delivered by members and subject-matter experts. These talks are held online and sometimes in person, covering a wide range of topics relevant to the field of civil engineering, offering valuable insights and professional development opportunities.
- Site visits: twice a year, we organise site visits to ongoing civil construction projects. These visits provide members with a unique opportunity to see engineering projects in action and to learn from the experiences of those involved.
- Mentorship: our association also offers mentorship programs to support members working towards their professional registration and for upgrading their membership status. Experienced engineers provide guidance and support to help mentees achieve their career goals.
- Collaborations: we actively collaborate with other engineering associations to organise various events, enhancing the professional development and networking opportunities available to our members.
The France Association comprises volunteers including ICE Members and the ICE representative for France. These dedicated individuals play crucial roles in organising events, coordinating visits to engineering projects, and fostering a supportive community for civil engineers in France.
