At the heart of everything we do in India are volunteer ICE representatives and local associations.
They help arrange events, visits to ongoing engineering projects and social activities.
They are also vital in helping to increase the profile of civil engineering in India.
As well as the local associations, there are several ICE student chapters at universities and graduate groups, that support members working towards professional qualifications.
Professional Review interviews are held annually in India, most recently in Bengaluru and Chennai.
ICE and the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) have an Agreement of Cooperation.
This agreement enables the two organisations to form a strategic partnership, exchange of information, and organise joint events and activities.
Please note that ICE is in no way related to the separate institution named ICE (India).
The Bengaluru Local Association arranges events, visits to ongoing engineering projects and social activities for ICE members based in Bengaluru.
This gives members the opportunity to share knowledge and network with other professional engineers.
The association is made up of ICE members, the ICE representative for Bengaluru and graduate representatives.
It also has a graduate group which meets regularly to support members who are preparing for their Professional Review.

Home to some of India's largest industrial establishments, the Mumbai Local Association has received strong representation from the Civil Engineering fraternity spanning across Academicians, Consulting and Construction companies in the Mumbai region and covering a significant portion of progressive Western India. Mumbai city has been and continues to remain a major financial centre of the country.
The city itself faces multi-fold infrastructure challenges needing new and innovative ways to deal with the issues in a confined expanse of an island city for an ever-growing population. The Mumbai region comprising states of Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat has witnessed some marquee projects recently including the Worli-Bandra sea link, the first in India, the Statue of Unity, tallest statue in the World and many more. The region is also home to some of the most remarkable cultural legacies with forts representing the Maratha kingdom, the caves of Ajanta and Ellora – of Jain, Buddha and Hindu art and engineering and much more.
The Mumbai Association has already paved the way for ICE towards digital transformation by quickly embracing the remote web-based tools while continuing its activity through the pandemic in 2021. The ICE Mumbai Association is now working towards developing partnerships with the industry, academicians and students for widening participation across the following initiatives:
If you'd like to get involved please contact us at [email protected].
The local association will be made up of ICE members, the ICE representative for Mumbai, as well graduates and representatives from ICE student chapters in the region.
