Overview

Join the ICE Early Careers Network West Midlands for an insight into the transport industry. 

This event will include talks from civil engineers on their experiences and career journeys from across the transport industry. Speakers will include: 

  • Miranda Bishop-Timings, section engineer, Morgan Sindall
  • Lucy Gardner, rail multidisciplinary integration leader, Arup
  • Chris Jackson, civil structures associate, Arup
  • Elliott Webb, highways engineer, Arup

There will also be a bridge building competition, giving attendees the chance to continue networking and show off their creative skills.

This event is a great opportunity for those wanting to learn about different careers in transport or simply want to find out more about the sector.

Elliott Webb

Elliott Webb is an engineering technician (EngTech) member of the ICE and working as a highways engineer at Arup. Elliott is currently working on an early stages infrastructure project in Ireland, which looks to address issues with road safety and connectivity. 

Elliott has been involved with the ICE Early Careers Network (ECNet) for several years starting as an apprentice member through to chairing the committee.

Chris Jackson is a bridges and civil structures associate at Arup. Chris is a member of the ICE and IStructE and currently chairs the Rail safety and standards board (RSSB) Track Bridge Interaction Working Group, contributing to writing new design standards in this area.
