Union Station 25 York Street Toronto, Canada
This event has now ended
Overview
Toronto’s Union Station is the gateway to the region and is undergoing much needed modernization while preserving heritage features to meet transit needs now, and in the future. The Union Station Enhancement Project (USEP) is part of wider planned upgrades to Union Station aiming to support the creation of a network that has the capacity to deliver two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes or better along core segments of the GO rail network.
Some of the improvements being made today as part of USEP to allow for more trips, more often across the network include:
- A new south passenger concourse spanning from Bay to York Streets which will have convenient open concept connections into the York, VIA, and Bay Concourses, Union Square and Scotiabank Arena.
- New improved platforms and more access to and from the concourse levels via stairs and elevators which reduce crowding and increase room for customers to move through the station.
With this expansion, GO will better serve the thousands of passengers who move through Union Station each day and will make the station less crowded, more convenient and comfortable for customers.
Join us on May 30th for a tour of the site provided by the OnTrack Alliance group who are delivering the project. A short presentation and overview will also be provided along with light refreshments. This is a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the current progress of the work being carried out at Union Station from Bay to York Street. Construction is in full swing with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work happening concurrently.
