Adam Smith is a graduate civil engineer at Stantec based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Adam Smith will then share his experiences in the Princess Royal Award for Emerging Engineers (formerly the Emerging Engineers Award) where he was the 2025 regional winner for his paper titled “Solving the problem not just the issue: A sustainable approach to spill reduction in Berwick upon Tweed”. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a catchment wide SuDS solution to reduce storm overflows from spilling to the River Tweed.
