The recent exclusive webinar, ‘Route to ICE membership in Pakistan’, brought together a distinguished audience of senior professionals, including mentors, supervising engineers, employers, reviewers, and professional role models. During the session, Dr Jenny Illingsworth, ICE membership manager, outlined how civil engineers in Pakistan can achieve CEng MICE and access world‑class professional opportunities internationally.
Following the webinar, it was agreed that these experienced professionals would be invited to take part in a series of exclusive follow‑up sessions, where they will share their personal journeys and insights to guide and inspire aspiring young engineers.
This webinar marks the first session in the series and will take place on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, from 9:00-10:00 (UK time) / 13:00-14:00 (Pakistan time). The session will feature a talk by Fakhar Alam CEng MICE, who completed his BSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Peshawar and his MSc at the University of Leeds.
Fakhar began his professional career at AECOM, where he completed his Initial Professional Development (IPD) under a formal training agreement. He is currently a Principal Engineer Team Leader at AtkinsRéalis in Leeds, where he works on planning, design, and construction management projects. His experience includes leading the A40 Access to Witney (Shores Green) project, part of the Oxfordshire County Council Witney Area Strategy, which aims to enhance connectivity between Witney and the A40.
