Overview

Hosted as part of the ICE Malaysia Graduate Network Annual General Meeting, this talk aims to provide valuable insights into the field of geotechnical engineering, drawing from the extensive experience of Ir. Gan Shwu Jiuan. With 25 years of experience in major infrastructure projects across Southeast Asia, Ir. Gan will share her professional journey and perspectives on the evolving role of geotechnics in delivering safe and sustainable developments.

The session will explore key aspects of geotechnical engineering, including ground investigation, deep excavation, and tunnelling. Participants will gain a better understanding of how geotechnics underpins complex infrastructure projects and the challenges faced in practice.

The session will then be followed by the ICE Malaysia Graduate Network’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2026. Light refreshments will be provided, and attendees will have a great opportunity to connect with other professionals.
