Overview

This event is hosted jointly with the UK Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS).

The utilisation of space technology for infrastructure asset monitoring, including those improved by the use of geosynthetics, has expanded rapidly in recent years, driven by advancements in cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and enhanced satellite capabilities regarding spatial resolution and revisit times.

Satellite remote sensing, when integrated with geotechnical expertise, enables effective infrastructure assessment and geohazard risk management through dynamic modelling and AI-driven analytics.

Furthermore, incorporating soil moisture data, along with other multi-layer information, provides comprehensive insights for proactive risk mitigation.
