Ben Ward
Ben is a chartered civil engineer and registered ground engineering professional with 15 years’ experience in the design and construction of engineering projects within rail infrastructure, high speed road networks, local authorities, aviation, marine and coastal environments.
He began working for Balfour Beatty Construction Services gaining experience in both construction and temporary works design, supporting a wide range of highways contracts, including the M25 DBFO. During this period, he also gained knowledge in areas of asset management, structural and geotechnical inspection and assessment, and commercial estimation for major projects.
Ben later had the opportunity to join a consultancy, working for Parsons Brinckerhoff which later became WSP. Over this period, he developed his general civils design experience which then led onto a specialisation in ground engineering. He now leads the Bristol ground engineering team supporting a wide range of public and private sector clients through the project lifecycle with a focus on proactively managing ground risk. This includes responsibility for single and multidisciplinary design delivery for smaller, locally-funded schemes, all the way up to packages of works on national infrastructure
