Overview

This event explores menstruation in the construction industry and the practical, cultural and policy changes needed to better support women on site. It will focus on how workplace conditions, organisational attitudes and regulatory requirements directly affect participation, wellbeing and retention of women in construction.

The presentation will showcase Charity Rose’s work in petitioning for adequate sanitary disposal facilities on construction sites. Charity will explain why access to these basic provisions a health, dignity and equality issue is, rather than a comfort add on.

The session will also discuss the development of women friendly workplace policies, including approaches to supporting menstruation and menopause in physically demanding environments.

Attendees will gain insight into how inclusive policies can be implemented in a traditionally male dominated sector.

Delivered as an informative and reflective presentation, the event will conclude by exploring how individuals and organisations can drive effective, sustainable change from influencing regulators to embedding inclusive practices within their own workplaces.
