The Port of Southampton is the UK's leading vehicle-handling port and the UK's second-largest container terminal. As Europe's leading turnaround cruise port, Southampton welcomes around three million passengers annually through its five cruise terminals.
The port contributes £2.5 billion to the UK economy each year and handles exports worth £40 billion.
This guided tour will provide an overview of the port's operations, facilities, and activities. Participants will observe different areas of the port and gain an understanding of how people, equipment, and infrastructure work together to support the movement of goods and passengers. The tour offers insight into the scale and complexity of one of the UK's major ports, highlighting key aspects of safety, logistics, and waterfront operations.
The tour will take place by minibus.
PPE Requirement: Attendees must bring their own 5-point PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and safety boots.
