New STEM activities: submit your ideas to inspire young people by 4 June

ICE is looking for ideas that can be developed into working ‘hands-on’ educational activities to be delivered by ICE members in schools. We’re looking to develop up to 3 new challenges to excite and inspire young people. Can you help?

We are looking for activities that can inspire young people and help convey ICE’s key messages: that civil engineers transform people’s lives and that civil engineering is a creative, rewarding and fun career.

Schools are looking for an educational element and the ideas also need to be practical for volunteers to set up and run. Beyond that, we are looking for you to wow us with your best ideas - whether for primary schools, secondary schools or youth groups.

There is a budget of up to £20,000 for winning idea(s). These will be developed by education consultants who will turn them into professional polished products to support ICE’s work with young people. We will collaborate with winners throughout the development process and launch.

Your ideas can be something completely original or an upgrade of an activity you and/or others have been running for a while - but your idea will need to have spark.

You can see some of the materials we already offer on our education resources webpages.

Each winner will receive a £200 voucher and invitation (plus guest) to visit ICE HQ in Westminster, including an overnight stay if appropriate, to see their activities demonstrated and launched at the end of 2018.
