This submission outlines the ICE’s views on some of the public policy challenges concerning the decarbonisation of the UK’s power sector over the coming decade, including:
- Future energy mix
- The role of new nuclear
- Action on energy efficiency in homes
- Continuing to evolve existing mechanisms such as Contracts for Difference and the RAB model
- Supporting nascent markets and technologies, as well as energy storage
- The role of the Future Systems Operators
- Building a compelling public narrative and supporting consumers
