Three stages to professional qualification
The qualifications and knowledge you need to become professionally qualified.
Where you’ve worked and for how long. Initial professional development (IPD) explained.
How to apply, what you need to submit and guidance on the face-to-face review itself.
We offer a range of additional qualifications that support your career development, as well as advanced training to improve your skills and knowledge.
A CMgr qualification from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is the highest management qualification there is and complements your expertise as a civil engineer. Discounts for MICE IEng or CEng.
An Accredited Project Management Qualification (APMP) is an internationally recognised qualification and can count towards professional qualification.
If you’re a MICE or FICE with a focus on the environment or sustainability then you can aim for a CEnv from the Society for the Environment (SocEnv).
Civil engineers often need to deal with legal and contractual issues. ICE accredits various legal and contract management exams.
A one day training course focussing on temporary works above ground. It is complemented by a similar training course focussing on works above ground.
Delivered over two days this training course uses notes, presentations, tutorials and delegate discussion to address the key geotechnical and structural criteria for the design of a range of foundation types commonly used for building and civil engineering structures. The emphasis is on the development of practical solutions to design problems, working to current design codes and standards.
This one day programme is designed to equip delegates with the skills necessary to fulfil that quality management function and to identify how quality is monitored and ensured in the contract by the Service Manager and Contractor.
Focussing on the provisions of the Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC), this informative one day workshop provides delegates with a detailed working knowledge of the procedures and processes of Compensation Events.
If you're already an ICE member, or you've started an application for membership, you can access training personalised to your location, as well as membership advice.
