Temporary works are an essential construction element in every construction project. However, temporary works safety management is often not adequately understood by the personnel involved in the works. The lack of understanding unfortunately leads to the occurrence of temporary structures failing and major accidents which result in serious injuries and fatalities. It was our honour to invite Mr Chris Cheng, Chairman of Hong Kong Temporary Works Forum to share his insight on the temporary works management in Hong Kong. An in-depth group discussions session then followed from the viewpoints of different stakeholders.
