Overview
After three successful years, the fourth Yorkshire and Humber ICE/CIWEM Flooding and Water Quality Conference returned on the 20 November 2025 at the Leeds Marriott.
Yorkshire and Humber benefits from a range of landscapes derived from a unique combination of major topographical and underlying geological features. These are home to a population of just under 6m people, and face both a growing need for different land usages and ever-increasing threats from climate change.
The water industry has never ever been so challenged as it is now, facing deteriorating asset health, low public support and severe penalties, while they battle increasing challenges from climate change and investment scrutiny.
Industry experts came together and put aside individual lenses to discuss the bold action needed to address flooding and water quality issues in the region.
Water engineers were urged to put sustainable design features into their projects now, not when they’re forced to.
