Overview

The Northumberland Line aims to stimulate and support economic growth, regeneration, and community development in Northumberland and the surrounding regions by providing a new and improved rail transport link for local people and businesses.

The scheme will reintroduce a train passenger service that will include 6 new stations with 2 trains per hour and a 35 min journey time between Ashington and Newcastle, whilst maintaining an existing freight route.

We will discuss some of the technical challenges of how this on-going project is be delivered.
