Do we understand the types of respiratory hazards faced by all workers and visitors to a construction project? Do we understand the potential life limiting or ending diseases that typical respiratory hazards pose? Are we doing enough to control the hazards and protect workers health?

Please join ICE South Branch and Gary Pharo TechIOSH of Sundstrom for this important talk about the importance of protecting the respiratory health of people who are engaged in construction activity.

In this talk Gary will help us understand the range of respiratory hazards that construction workers face. We will gain insight into the nature of the life limiting/ending illnesses that may result from not protecting workers.

We will be challenged on whether we are doing enough to protect the health of workers. Gary will further talk us through agents of lead concern to the HSE (asbestos, silica, wood and concrete dusts, isocyanate coating content) asking if we can or should deploy learning from the asbestos industry into a wider context.

We are a volunteer-manned branch of ICE are always looking to bring on new members.

If you are interested in joining the ICE South Branch committee or engaging in its affairs, please get in touch with our chair Zoe Hutchison FICE at [email protected], ICE South on LinkedIn or via X (formerly Twitter) @ICE_SouthBranch.
