Overview
The Emerging Engineers Award 2022 International Final will be hosted online and live-streamed.
This year, three finalists have been selected from the regional and branch competitions across the international ICE Early Careers Network. Each finalist will showcase their best work by presenting a paper in their chosen area of engineering design, research or practice, followed by a Q&A from the judging panel and audience.
The overall winner will receive a cash prize and the prestigious Institution Medal.
We look forward to welcoming you to what’s set to be a very informative and enlightening event.

Shay Durnin
Following Graduation from Queens University Belfast, Shay Joined AECOM with a MEng in Civil Engineering.
Since beginning his early career Shay has been involved in a variety of transportation projects, initially working on strategic road improvement schemes in Northern Ireland and then pedestrian and cycle safety improvement schemes in England.
Shay’s work is now focused within Ireland, as a Scheme Designer and Project Engineer. He is currently seconded to the National Transport Authority’s (NTA) Cycle Design Office (CDO) where he develops schemes to invigorate active travel in Ireland.
