Overview
Scotland’s energy system has changed dramatically over the past few decades. Once dominated by carbon-emitting fossil fuels, renewables are now the primary source of Scotland’s electricity and Scotland is a major global player in delivering innovative new energy solutions.
The Scottish Government was the first in the world to declare a ‘climate emergency’ and has a target for 50% of all energy consumption across Scotland’s electricity, heat and transport to be supplied by renewable sources by 2030.
At this lunch and learn we will hear from Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables.
Claire will explore the opportunities and challenges this energy transition brings, the industrial opportunities delivered by renewable energy and the role of the energy sector in driving forward the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’.
